About

The Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation (KDSF) Klang Centre was established in 1994 by the Kiwanis Club of Klang to provide early intervention services for children with Down Syndrome in the Klang area. The center operates from a double-storey semi-detached house and currently serves over 60 students with the support of six teachers.

Key services and programs offered by the KDSF Klang Centre include:

  • Early Intervention Programme (EIP): Provides comprehensive support for infants and toddlers with Down Syndrome, including therapy, education, and parent training.
  • Therapy: Offers specialized therapies, such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy, to help children with Down Syndrome develop their skills.

The KDSF Klang Centre relies heavily on public donations and the support of the Kiwanis Club of Klang to sustain its operations. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the center's fundraising efforts and has necessitated a shift to online teaching and counseling.

The center is always seeking additional funding and support to ensure that it can continue to provide its essential services to children with Down Syndrome in the Klang community.
